One Historical Pattern Brass 2" Stick Pin

Dressing/sewing tools of this style date back into the mists of time.  Originally, they were fashioned out of iron and bone by the Sumerians and were used to hold clothes together. Later when harder metals were available they were made of brass, bronze and eventually iron alloys.  The sharpened tip allows the body to easily penetrate the material, while the larger head provides a driving surface.  It is formed by drawing out a thin wire, forming & honing the tip, and adding a head, often decorative

We offer this novel historical accessory.

Our solid Brass pin is hand worked to an elegant form to a nice sharp tip and then finished with a twisted head for easy handling and use.  The spiral wire terminals are soldered into postion.  This piece is based upon a Roman period example from the 2nd Century AD.  It could easily be used in multiple other periods.  With it's nice bright finish the pin measures 2" or a bit more that 50 mm.
