About This Helm:
Steel Bascinet Helm designed specifically for SCA heavy combat. Made in either 14 ga. Cold Roll Mild or 14 ga. Stainless Steel this helm is the result of over a decade of refinement and improvement resulting in an appealing form with superior fit and function. It is available in the two metal varieties both 14 ga and both ruggedly intended for full contact, with stainless steel being slightly tougher and less maintenance.
Dimensions:
Height measured from inside peak is 10 3/4" when measured straight down and 12" when measured to junction of bar grill.
Interior Width is 8 1/2" ear to ear and 7 1/2" at opening.
Interior Depth is 11 1/2" from bar grill to back of helm.
These are delivered with a high polish. They are very "head shaped" and will provide ample room for most medium/large headed fighters because of the particular attending that has been paid to the need for padding and being specifically designed and manufactured for SCA combat.
This armor exceeds all known world standards for protection.
